Frequently asked questions
What are the benefits of a steel building?
Steel buildings are resistant to mold, mildew and termites reducing your maintenance costs. Steel buildings can be completed faster than traditional stick frame construction and can be designed to have any exterior cladding, for example vinyl siding, brick or stucco just to name a few.
Can I erect a steel building myself?
Yes, depending on the size and specific design of your building it can be erected with the correct tools and 3 to 4 people. The Shed Company recommends that their buildings be erected by a trained professional which we can supply. Talk to your sales rep regarding factory warranties as some material suppliers will not warranty materials not installed by trained professionals.
How long does it take to receive a building?
Typically a building kit can be fabricated, shipped and erected in 3 to 4 weeks.
Can a steel building be expanded?
Buildings can be designed with the intention of being expanded at a later date. (Due to building code changes, some buildings that were originally designed to be expanded may not be able to.)
Can a steel building be insulated?
Yes there are multiple options for insulating a steel building. Typically rolled insulation is used but talk to your sales rep about different options.
How does the cost of a steel building compare to traditional construction?
